What you should know about Whangs Black Belt Taekwondo

Covering Taekwondo in Lindfield, Killara, Gordon and Roseville areas. CLASS TIMETABLE Mondays: Black Belt Class, 7.00pm-8.30pm Saturdays: Combined Class, 7.00pm-8.30pm Thursdays: Combined Class, 7.00pm-8.30pm Tuesdays: Colour Belt Class, 10.00am-11.30am. Saturday's class sometimes focuses on low striking techniques and hand work. Thursday's class sometimes focuses on self defence using the mats. Class focuses on strength building and stretching. Combined Class: Class for all belts. Class focuses on drilling basic techniques, basic patterns and sparring. Colour Belt Class: White, yellow, blue and red belts. Class focuses on advanced techniques, higher patterns and weapons. Closed door training which means visitors are not permitted to stay and watch. Black Belt Class: Black belts only. That is the so called technical ideal. That striving to skill perfection, body fitness respectfully and the satisfaction which follows is the first component of Taekwondo. The training system is an endless repetition and perfecting the studied techniques. The basis in Taekwondo practising is the technique. So it is closely related to the philosophy of the East, and mainly to the dualistic ideal of harmony (Yin and Yang). Taekwondo is a martial art - a whole system of physical exercises, spiritual development and philosophic principles. They include: * Games Committee, KTA * Executive member, TANSW * Technical Director, Taekwondo Australia * Secretary General, The World Taekwondo Federation * Tournament Director, ATU Taekwondo is not just a physical practice or sport. Master Whang has also served in many federations. Master Whang was in charge of running Taekwondo at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. Master Whang also has Master's degree in Education from UNSW. One is published by Cambridge University Press, Key Skills Outcomes in Science. Master Whang has coauthored two books in science. Master Michael Whang (Hwang Kyo Soon) 7th Dan Black Belt Master Whang is a qualified science teacher who has taught physics at Killara High School and The Hills Grammar School. (more).
