Governed by a Committee of Management, ID was formally established in 1954, and is a not for profit community service organization dedicated to delivering lofty quality services to people with a disability. We seek to embrace community partnerships that support sustainable and important opportunities for people with a disability to engage with their communities as they choose. ID supports people with a disability to access opportunities to engage in life experiences that are significant for the individual. As an employer of approximately 100 staff, we are committed to a culture of quality and consecutive improvement that reflects meaningful outcomes for people with a disability and the community. IDVC strives to design and deliver services that are innovative and person directed in accordance with a range of legislative requirements. Soon after, the local Ivanhoe Sea Scout Hall was located and formed the base for supporting 15 children, 4 days per week. The new site at Haw don Street, Heidelberg, catered for 60 children and included a kindergarten, an assembly hall, craft room, workshop, office and staff room. Once again, relocation to a larger facility was necessary in response to a lofty demand for services, resulting in a decision to purpose build a new facility in McNamara Street, Macleod. The fresh site was officially opened in 1976 and the organization became obvious as Ivanhoe Diamond Valley center Inc.
